A rich palate of wood, concrete, and steel is used to rebuild a 2-story porch and connecting garden path.  The new design includes wide terracing stairs, horizontal wood slats that screen a neighbor's yard, a seating bench that lifts for easy access to the basement, a louvered railing system that shades the porch and directs second-floor views to the adjacent carriage house and garden below.
