McNeil Residence

A long-standing relationship between the Owner and the Architects results in a colorful new wood frame addition that wraps up and over an existing masonry wardsman style rowhouse end unit in NW DC.  The addition includes an expanded new kitchen with a sky-lit dining bay, a second story deck off a revitalized master bedroom/office, and a spiral stair that leads to a partially covered rooftop observation platform and multiple solar panels.  The updated design includes reusing the stylized columns and the wood porch from the Architect’s previous design 25 years earlier.
