Mount Pleasant

Washington DC

Doro

Cook, eat and watch TV comfortably were the Owner’s basic goals for this project.

The major challenges were to make a small, brick rowhouse (circa 1942) appear as open, spirited and uncluttered as possible.

The functional elements were located along the side walls, thereby creating a rift of space in the center.  The rift is enhanced by large windows at each end of the house that allows nature and light to pass through the house.
